Have you ever felt alone or forgotten? Have you ever felt betrayed by someone you loved?
Jesus knows how you feel.
It was the feast of the Passover. Jesus knew His time was short. He knew He would soon be crucified.
He also knew it was one of His own friends who would betray Him. Oh, how that must have saddened Him.
He also knew that even those who loved Him most would deny Him.
Peter said, “Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.” (Matthew 26:33)
Jesus said, “Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.” (Matthew 26:34)
Later, after Peter had indeed denied three times that He was associated with Jesus, He realized what He had done and wept.
Jesus knows our pains and afflictions. One of the reasons He suffered was to experience our pains and know how to help us.
When you’re feeling lonely, know you are not alone.
He is there.
