From today’s Bible reading: Matthew 8
A centurion came to Jesus begging Him to heal his servant. Jesus said that He would come.
The centurion, concerned about his worthiness, told the Lord that he wasn’t worthy but that he knew that if the Lord would speak it, his servant would be healed.
When Jesus heard this, He marveled, saying “I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”
“Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.”
And the servant was healed.
We don’t have to be worthy in order to have great faith.
We don’t have to be worthy to receive miracles.
We don’t have to be worthy to be loved. ♥️
Jesus meets us where we are.
He can help us become worthy of every blessing in time as we follow Him, but He sees our faith now.
And that’s when miracles can happen.
Worthiness is important, and we should strive to follow His commandments and gradually improve and repent, relying on Christ to redeem us.
But worthiness doesn’t equal worth.
