A young man approached Jesus and asked, “What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”
This man kept the commandments and was diligent to do good things. I think he was hoping for one good deed that would ensure his place in heaven.
“What lack I yet?” the man asked.
Jesus asked him to sell all that he had and give to the poor and then he would have treasure in heaven if he would come and follow Him.
The young man sadly went away.
Jesus must have sensed that his wealth was most important to him.
I like to imagine that maybe this young man was sad that he would have to sell all that he had, but that eventually he did and came to follow Jesus.

What lack I yet? This is something all of us can ask the Lord in prayer. We may be sad for a moment over what we need to change, but the rewards are eternal.
