From today’s Bible reading: Luke 4
Jesus was weary from fasting for many days.
Satan tries to tempt us in our weakness.
With every temptation, Jesus countered the devil’s efforts by saying, “It is written…”
Jesus knew the scriptures well. The verses could come to Him as He needed them to strengthen Him and overcome His adversary.
In school, when you had a test coming up, it was important to study the material so you could remember it when you needed it.
📖 The scriptures are our study guide for life’s tests.
You can’t recall what you haven’t studied.
But what we’ve learned from the scriptures the spirit can bring things to our remembrance in the very moment we need them.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26
That’s one of the reasons scripture study is so important.
Scriptures, hymns, songs… these things are often brought to my remembrance when I need strength, guidance, or encouragement. It’s one of the ways the Holy Spirit speaks to me.
It’s how I hear God’s voice in my life. 🥰
Only by listening, reading, and studying now will I be able to remember what I’ve learned when life’s tests come.
