In Matthew 20, Jesus gives the parable of the laborers in the vineyard.
A man hired workers at a penny a day to work in the vineyard.
At the third hour, he finds more workers and puts them to work in the vineyard.
At the sixth, ninth, and eleventh hours, he does the same.
Then he pays each of them a penny, even those who had only worked an hour.
Those who received the penny and only had a chance to work an hour must have been very grateful.
Those who had worked all or most of the day complained.
It didn’t seem fair.
Why would those who came later get paid the same amount for less work?
Jesus asks them why they would be jealous because He chose to be kind.
God cares more about the faith you have at the end of the day and not what part of the day you began to have faith.
He is merciful and kind.
Even if you arrive at the eleventh hour, God is excited to reward you for your faith.
