If Jesus had healed Lazarus before he died, it would have been just another one of His miracles.
But Jesus waited four days after Lazarus had died before going to Bethany.
Jesus said, “And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe.” (John 11:15)
If He had been there when Mary and Martha hoped He’d been there, they wouldn’t have seen that He had power over even death.
Reading this story I wondered how many times Jesus waits and lets us experience trials so He can show His power in our lives.
There have been things I’ve prayed for and hoped for that haven’t happened yet.
Perhaps one day they will, and Jesus Christ will show His great power that I wouldn’t have understood otherwise.
