From today’s Bible reading: Matthew 11
I was thinking about the imagery of a yoke and what it would be like to be yoked with Christ.
I learned that in a yoke, the stronger and smarter animal is the leader. When two animals are yoked together, one animal must be dominant and the other submissive. This is because when two strong-willed animals are yoked together, they can create tension by pulling in different directions at different speeds.
Obviously, Jesus is the stronger and smarter one. Letting Him lead me and take my burdens upon Himself will make hard things easier.
Just a couple of days ago, I said that He never said it would be easy.
Maybe it’s not easy if I’m being a bit too strong-willed or focused on myself.
Maybe I’m fighting rest like a toddler fights naptime.
Maybe I need to let go more and let Him lead me.
Maybe it’s not that it’s easy for me, but it’s easy for Him to take upon my burdens because He loves me that much. ❤️
