In the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25, five virgins are prepared when the bridegroom comes with oil in their lamps. Five are unprepared, and their oil has run out.
What does the oil represent in this parable? It could represent faith, charity, or keeping covenants. It might also be having the Holy Spirit with you.
It has been said that in the coming days, it will be difficult to survive spiritually without the Holy Spirit with us. In order to keep the Spirit with us, we do need to have faith, charity, love, and keep our covenants. These things add “oil”, drop by drop, to our spiritual lamps.
