She knew she had done many sinful things in her life.
But she knew that Jesus could forgive sin.
She came where He was, bringing ointment to show that she knew He was her Lord and Savior.
She fell at His feet, tears streaming down her face, until they fell upon the feet of Jesus.
She wiped away the tears with her long hair and gently and reverently anointed His feet.
Others there would mock, but Jesus knew.
Jesus knew of her heartache, her suffering, her repentance, and now her love.
“And he said unto her, ‘Thy sins are forgiven.’”
What relief must have filled her heart!
She was clean.
The past was sealed in the past.
Her future was made bright.
I imagine her tears fell even more freely now…
But now they were tears of joy.
Jesus told her, “Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”
I’m sure she was determined from then on to follow Christ’s words.
